FIRST: What is The Box?

The Box is a construct of society that we define as we are raised and then begin to define who we are. The Box is something that dictates to us who we "should" be... or what we "should" do... or worse, how we "should" define our own happiness.

The Box isn't based on our potential or our dreams or our hopes. It is based on the beliefs of others and how they have managed to impose them on us by getting us to believe them as well.

The Box can also be equated to a prison of beliefs that keep us unforgivingly confined to ideas and life paths that are predetermined by a generally undefined source of conflicting and restricting ideas.

SECOND: What Does This Mean?

Living according to The Box typically means that our lives are never as full as we want them to be. A life that is lived in The Box is generally marked with dissatisfaction, a constant search for something to be happy about, and hope that seems to be just beyond reach.

Living in The Box usually means that you can easily see the trajectory of your life and while you would love to change it, you are probably convinced that you can't. Or worse, that you had better face the idea that learning to be somewhat satisfied with what you currently have is your best shot for happiness.
